This is the full English version of our privacy policy, not a machine translation. Section numbers match the Arabic version one to one, so any section can be cross-checked between the two languages. Both versions carry equal weight.
Who we are and what this policy covers
Al-Mizeej General Trading Company is an Iraqi company based in Baghdad — Al-Saydiya, Khadami Al-Saydiya, near Al-Malaki Hospital. We operate two lines of business: Future Eyes, which sells imported pre-owned Apple devices in the Iraqi market, and Mizeej, an e-commerce platform.
This policy explains how we handle your data in three places: this website, al-mizeej.com; the messages you send us on the Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts we operate; and the purchase orders that reach us. The data controller is Al-Mizeej General Trading Company, and the contact address for privacy matters is info@al-mizeej.com.
Your data when you contact us on Messenger and Instagram
We operate our Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts through an internal application of our own, which connects to Meta's official interfaces (Messenger Platform and Instagram Graph API). When you message us or comment on a post, we receive the following through those interfaces:
- The content of your message or comment, including any photo or voice note you send with it
- Your display name on the platform and your account picture
- A technical conversation identifier issued by Meta, which does not reveal your account outside our Page
- The ad you arrived through, if you reached us from an ad
We do not collect your friend list, your posts, the Pages you follow, or any data from your account outside the conversation itself. We do not request any Meta permission that would allow us to.
2.1 Replies are written by a human
Every reply you receive from our Pages is written by a member of our customer service team. We do not use automated replies, we do not send bulk messages, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
2.2 If you delete your message
If you delete a message from the conversation, Meta notifies us, and our copy of it — the text and any attached files — is deleted automatically within seconds. You do not need to contact us or submit any request.
2.3 Our copy and the platform's copy are separate
This policy covers only the copy held by us. The copy stored by Facebook or Instagram is governed by Meta's own privacy policy, and it is deleted from your account settings on the platform itself, not by us.
Your data through the website and orders
- When you place an order: your name, phone number, the governorate and address needed for delivery, and the details of the device or product ordered
- When you email us: your email address and the content of your message
- Raw technical logs generated automatically by the server: IP address, browser type, and request time
al-mizeej.com uses no tracking cookies, no visitor analytics, and no advertising pixel. There is no login and there are no user accounts on this website.
Why we use your data
- To reply to your message or question
- To fulfil and deliver your order and to handle warranty follow-up
- To evidence a transaction in the event of a dispute or a warranty claim
- To meet accounting requirements and the provisions of Iraqi law
- To operate our systems and protect them from abuse and fraud
We do not use your data for any other purpose without telling you.
Promotional messages
We send offers and updates by email and SMS only, and only with your prior consent. You can stop them at any time by writing to info@al-mizeej.com, and doing so has no effect on your orders or your warranty.
We do not send promotional messages, offers, or marketing reminders through Messenger or Instagram Direct. Our use of those two channels is limited to replying within a conversation you started.
Retention periods
We keep each type of data for as long as the purpose it was collected for requires, and then delete it:

If you request deletion before these periods end, we delete everything we are not required to keep by law or by the warranty. The details are on the data deletion page.
Who has access to your data
- Our team: the employees assigned to customer service and order fulfilment, each only as far as their task requires
- DigitalOcean, LLC: the hosting and storage provider our servers run on
- Delivery companies: we hand over the name, phone number, and address needed to deliver your order, and nothing else
- Public authorities: upon a binding legal request
We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not share it with any advertising network, data broker, or third party for that party's own marketing purposes.
Data security
We use an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS), restrict access to customer data through role-based permissions, and keep secured backups. No system is completely secure, so we review permissions regularly and keep the smallest amount of data that still lets the work get done.
Your rights and how to exercise them

Children
Our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13, and if we learn that such data has reached us, we delete it.
Changes to this policy
We publish any change on this same page with a new version number and an updated date at the top. If a change is substantial — a change to retention periods, or to who has access to your data — we say so clearly.
